Progress- Rehearsals Week 2 and Xmas.

Hello There
Back for another go at this, well we have finished for Christmas now and my intention is to do lots of work however it is Christmas so I feel a serious break is in order but at least the fact the show is going well increases my motivation to do work on the play. Last week’s rehearsals went very well think everyone is really starting to get to grips with character and style and so on. It is true about 3rd year being a professional year as there is a different attitude towards this production and the last one that makes it really exciting everybody wanting to come and prove themselves, well I know I do. Everyone one wants to rehears scenes before we get to them and have something good so we can crack on with the real work, to be honest I love it, makes me worry slightly about the face that when uni is over and I am not defiantly going to do a show every term. Can't imagine not doing some sort of acting now however stressful it can be at times so let’s pray I manage to get some work when I finish. Need to get my face out there and audition so got to get on top of everything this holiday so I can concentrate on that and the show next term and not all the academic stuff as that is equally important to my degree so I have to get that done but let’s face it it’s not as fun is it :). Not got a lot to talk about this week as it’s just been doing more of the same and when we are off I have a boring life of uni work and catching up with people I have neglected whilst rehearsing, sorry guys but can't say I will stop neglecting you next year as I probably won’t, in fact I will probably focus on acting even more. :D

Rehearsals week 1

Hello again, so started the rehearsals for 'Punk Rock' this week and spent a very long time uniting but I do have to say it helped a lot and made me really think about the character and reassess some of the decisions I had already made, needless to say the technique work I had started to do on the script went out the window as they no longer made scenes but that’s how it goes. As I am double cast I was not the first one to bring life to Lilly Cahill however sitting on the outside did help me get inspired and incredibly eager to get in the space which was a god send as I made sure to rehears at least the start of the scene with one of the Williams before the next rehearsal where I had to jump in from where Helen left off, daunting much lol. Once I was up though it went so very different from what I have been doing as of late as it is very naturalistic and the characters are younger. I had never notice just how big an age gap 17 to 21 is before, it turns out you grow up a lot in 4 years but it’s fun playing younger especially as I look young too. So progress is being made already on the show and you know what it looks to be really good even from this early stage, I am kind of excited about how it’s going to develop which makes a change for me as I am always nervous at this point about my characterisation and stuff and have to fight to see how good the end product could be. I am enjoying this new foresight although still really need to start work on lines and character really want this to be amazing especially as it is the last show with the guys from my class and although working with new people will be ace, the guys are amazing, supportive and we are kind of great together as a company awww, that’s enough niceness for one day, technique awaits.
